BUddy was THREE sheets to the wind and heading for India. He was real crusty and telling me things like "No body tries to set standards for themselves anymore...there was a time in this business when peopel took it seriously."

Then he complemented me on my tie and said I "was a good guy"
bought me a drink. ANd proceeded to piss and moan about the state of the world and how as a reporter you have to accept illegal things and even get involved in them sometimes...I don't know what he was getting at there. Coolest part? He had a glass eye!
