Fried. With shredded savoy cabbage.

Saute'd with sweet red pepper rings.

As the main ingredient in Spambalaya, a maindish I invented myself.

9. I remember as a child, when my mother was low on groceries
she'd open a can of spam and dip slices of it into fritter batter and deep fry it. We thought it was wonderful.

I hate it.

10. I ate it as a kid, too, and can't stomach it as an adult
I don't remember how often my mom cooked it, but often enough that I remember it. My dad was also big on fried bologna sandwiches...sort of the same general ballpark as Spam.

I bought a can two years ago out of nostalgia, to see if I could handle it. I fried a couple of slices in the pan. It had a sharp, rancid smell that I couldn't get out of the house for days. I didn't actually eat it...thank God...but at least the next time I see it on the store shelves I'll know better.

:toast:

bless her soul. We never went hungry. I think I could eat spam tonight if she were here to cook it. Just this once.

11. I like Spam
I fry it up and eat it as a sandwich with mustard. But not often. I get tired of it quickly.

15. We like to buy
odd products like spam so the kids can try it once. We opened a can of spam and our dog went nuts. He was such a mellow dog and we could hardly believe it when he went nuts and attacked that can. The cats won't touch it though.
