Hormel is the most disgusting swill - even though they are both made by the same company.

6. I Don't Do Canned Chili |
|
Remember all the times you've heard of recalls involving ground beef due to e. coli contamination? It comes back to consumers in canned chili, spaghetti sauce with meat, ravioli or some such product...and the USDA doesn't have to tell you it's there! They say that cooking kills all pathogens, so it's OK to recycle recalled meat. And we're supposed to trust the people who got poop in the meat in the first place to cook it thoroughly? Personally, it doesn't matter to me whether it's fully cooked or not; I'm not having any part of it. Maybe I'm just funny that way, but I don't want cow poop in my chili.

It's really good. Very meaty and the beans aren't cooked to goo. Very homemade-like.
Got no complaints with Stagg brand either. Hormel ... not so much.
