I just scared the *bleep* out of myself...
I am sitting here typing appraisals, and my chest starts to hurt, and I feel really funny...so then I start to panic-heart attack, stroke, blood clot-yes, laugh at my hypochondria, laugh- so I crawl up stairs to ask hubby if I look ill, or get moral support. He is sleeping, sleeping soundly...can't wake him up...

Here I could be having a major cardiac event (doubtful, but still) and he slumbers, my husband.

Then, I remember beef enchiladas with many green chiles we had for dinner...excellent, but heck on my innards. Pain goes away, all is well, MrsGrumpy lives on. ;)

Thank you for sharing my anxiety.

4. Been there, done that
Doesn't it suck the way a major gas bubble will feel like the end of your life just before you feel the sudden need to belch hard enough to shake the walls?

Of course, one should always attempt to stifle that belch when in polite company... but I never said I was polite!

5. I've got one
I was eating Chinese food with a plastic fork at work. Take a bite, swallow, pulling the fork out of my mouth. One of the tines is missing!!! Then I feel it scratching my throat on the way down.

I'm imaging all the horrible things that could happen. My throat swells up from the irritation. The sharp edges on the plastic tear up my stomach and I bleed internally. My intestines get sliced open and I poison myself. (I have a vivid imagination.)

So, my dilemma is: Do I tell my coworkers and seek their advice. Notify them in case I keel over at my desk. They already mock me mercilessly because I'm a vegetarian. All I need to do is give them more ammunition. I won't eat meat, but I'll eat plastic. :eyes:

Obviously, I lived. I'm glad you're OK, too. :-) But it can be scary when our imaginations get the best of us.

6. I have that once in awhile too, MsGrumpy!
I try to watch what I eat more lately, and have the 'Tums' handy when I know I've eaten something delicious but risky!

Glad it was 'just' a scare.....

9. Had a hypochondriac BF who was CERTAIN THERE WAS BLOOD IN HIS STOOL...
but I reminded him of the deep, dark, rich brownies I'd baked, that he'd eaten the night before. he was HYSTERICAL. Almost sobbing.

He didn't last too long.
