14. Good. I'm glad he feels lonely. Since he made it to the top by
himself, (as they insist they do), he should be use to it by now.

7. He's a new employee. I was invited out to lunch with his department
So I was kind of obligated. I didn't know he was a Repug until mid-way through the meal though.

10. No. And this guy wasn't very funny, either
He was actually kind of sad. His whole reason for being a republican was that he didn't think gay people should be able to get married. His supervisor is a gay man. As much as I tried to steer the conversation away from the topic, he kept bringing it back.

Did the new hire KNOW that the supervisor is gay?

30. Well, that just goes to show
that you should never, EVER say mean things in front of people you don't know too well.

Not to say that saying mean things is OK in front of people you DO know well, but you're more likely to know exactly whether or not they will be offended.

Talk about a true CLM....

We went to a place that makes really good burgers- thick ones, with great ingredients. I had the blue cheese burger with applewood smoked bacon. Mmmm-MMM!

18. No, but it sounds hilarious
When he announced his political affiliation, everyone at the table stopped talking all at once. Someone said, "Say what?" and we all started to laugh. Later, as we were walking out of the restaurant, I heard someone say, "Being a black Republican is like being a cow in favor of McDonald's"

24. Actually, my stomach is upset
I'm an HR person and I'm overworked as it is. The last thing I need is another set of employee issues to deal with. The guy seems reasonably normal (for a Repug) but he seems like a homophobe. I am concerned this guy will be a headache.

26. I saw that the supervisor was at lunch, also
and you're in HR, and I'm sure you can see the train wreck headed down the track.

I'm sorry that I don't have any green or herb tea to give you. :(
