San Antonio strippers to wear permits
San Antonio strippers to wear permits

Friday, December 17, 2004

(12-17) 09:17 PST SAN ANTONIO (AP) --

The City Council on Friday approved an ordinance requiring strippers to wear their permits while they are on stage.

City Councilman Chip Haass pushed the measure, adopted unanimously by the 11-member council, as a way to make it easier for police to identify dancers.

But Jim Deegear, a lawyer for several strip clubs in the city, said it would put strippers in danger by making it easier for an obsessed customer to find out a dancer's real name and where she lives.

2. Make it easier to "identify" dancers???
Try looking for the naked ladies on top of the bar. That's a big hint.

10. I don't think most dancers want customers showing up at their doors
If they did want to meet you privately, they would probably give you a number or a place to meet you, discreetly because at most places that sort of thing is against the rules. Most dancers dance for the money, not to attract hordes of men.

6. So, uh...
How are they supposed to wear them? Do they need to sew badgeholders into the front of their G-strings?

7. If that is a legit concern, it should be kep by the owner/manager
In a locked file. If the police or any regulatory agency would need to check those records, the records would be there for them to see for a purpose, not for everyone to see. Wearing ids while performing would be dangerous for strippers. They get harassed enough as it is.
