No, I'm not Scrooge, I don't hate Christmas. But there are things I hate about the "Christmas Season."

I hate how retailers keep trying to shove Christmas up my ass earlier every year. Before long we're going to have 3 month long "Christmas Season."

I hate having to go broke buying presents I can't afford because other people will think I'm stingy if I don't. I like giving gifts, but I don't like feeling social compulsion to give gifts.

Most of all, I hate having to hear songs like Silent Night being sung everywhere I go by some hack in a breathy voice, filled with false wonder.


How 'bout the rest of you? Get it off your chest!

1. Christmas starts right after labor day here in Ohio....

...the stuff comes out in the stores along with Christmas songs. It's really rather sickening. I stopped giving gifts when my family refused to draw names. I can't buy for all of them and don't want to!!!!! They don't need anything anyway. I buy gifts for kids whose name/wish I get off of a tree in the mall and have tried to encourage that in them without success. Anything I do get for family/friends...I order on line as I hate the shopping crap and the traffic, etc. My favorite day of the year is 12/26.
