Anyone else like Bright Eyes/Conor Oberst? |
|
He played on the Vote for Change tour, but I discovered him on accident, just bought the Lifted CD, have only listened once but finding it amazing.
He has a new album coming out in January, apparently, where he duets with Emmylou Harris. So he can't be all bad. :)
I find it amusing when people say that no one's making good music anymore. While I'm a huge fan of Neil, Zeppelin, Van Morrison, Dylan and other classics, I am constantly impressed and even blown away by some music being made today. Wilco, Richard Buckner, Will Oldham, and this Oberst fellow...there is so much fantastic music.

Play 'em all on my show. Bright Eyes is ok; haven't really gotten into him much...

Someone suggested I listen to him, and soon I had every one of his recordings. He kills me.

something about a carnival (no shit) and a wacky train ride and some kind of criminal conspiracy that I couldn't get out of, I was so stressed out after that
not that it isn't an AMAZING album, just be warned about falling asleep to it

12. You should check out Desaparecidos |
|

It's Conor's other band. I'm a huuuuuge fan of both Bright Eyes and Desaparecidos. Desaparecidos is more of a rock album with lyrics dealing with society and such. Very cool stuff.
