What can somebody tell me about dreams?
The last 2 nights, with last in particular, I've had some really nasty dreams.

Both involved work; noticing people getting laid off far sooner than I expected. There's much more involving last night's nightmare (it involved a fascist takeover), but I'd rather not repeat it... all I can say is I'm exhausted right now. :-(

I'm glad for Tuesday, maybe the counselor is right. :-)

1. I am in a peer support program with my work
I went through a class for it, and the Phychiatrist who taught it gave an interesting way to analyze dreams. She said to take every person in your dream, or every object, explain it's actions, and try to think of reasons for those actions.

For example, I have a recurring (strange) dream I am flying, and I land in a pool filled with chicken soup. So I would make a narrative of the dream, "I am flying to overcome difficulties. I land in a pool filled with chicken soup. I am the pool filled with soup, and the soup represents healing." I know it is a strange dream, but that just gives a little example. Hope maybe that helps you some. :)

2. The fascist take-over was in a sci-fi context.
Which would suggest it's all a load of cack. :-) Funny thing about dreams, sometimes they're too complex and assuming one remembers any detail about them, it's only in pieces and therefore possibly out of conext in the whole scheme.

3. I had a dream the other day about a fascit taking over too.
I posted it on DU the other day with the details. But it's archived.

I think dreams are basically thoughts your mind tries to work out while you're sleeping.

So it's possible that you're thinking pessimistically (however you spell it) about the future, and bad things (depending on how you felt about these layoffs) taking place before you're ready for them. Also, in light of the current political situation, perhaps you've been thinking about fascism a lot.

And the one where Adrien Brody told me I was his true love... :silly: That one was a prophetic revelation!
