Breakfast at Tiffany's
is coming on shortly...Encore's 'Love Stories' channel. Is it worth watching? At least I don't have to track down the person who rented the only copy from the video store :7

1. Other people love it.
I didn't really get it, though. I shouldn't have watched it stoned.

It has Hannibal from the A-Team in it, though. Weird. :)

5. Audrey Hepburn is strikingly georgeous...
And I'm still a young pup. Like Lauren Bacall, her beauty has nothing to do with an "era"...she's simply striking. It's worth it just for the eye candy.

6. I'm Already About to Bail
The opening strains of a highly stylized 'Moon River' held out the likelihood of hearing 20 different variations of that theme - something I'm not willing to endure on a Saturday morning. Then seeing Mickey Rooney doing a comic-asian schtick à la Jerry Lewis - complete with huge horn-rimmed glasses and buck teeth - has just about sealed the deal for switching channels.

7. Two things:
"Moon River" wasn't a cliche in 1961, when the movie was made.

Mickey Rooney's stereotypical portrayal of a Japanese is THE major flaw of the movie. He is quite similar to a cartoon character of the era, "Joe Jitsu" from The Dick Tracy Show. Unfortunately, that time was full of Asian stereotypes, including the nauseous "Chinese baby" ads from, of all things, Jello, e.g. "Chinese baby tell mother, 'That not Jello. It not wiggle.'"

8. Miss Gorightry I carr porice on you!!!!
Man I hate that character... I realize that it was still considered acceptible but whenever he shows up it just stops the movie cold.

I do like George Peppard in that film though, more than Audrey Hepburn I think.
