Saw a red Hummer today with a Christmas wreath on the front grill |
|
It was pretty to look at as it passed by me, and the young woman driving it was also quite pretty to look at.
But wasn't it Christ who said that the meek shall inherit the earth. Ain't really nothing to meek about a Hummer.

1. There has been an invasion of hummers in my town lately. |
|
It's a small town too. There have been at least 5 here. One is just about the gaudiest thing I've ever seen. It's painted green with giant yellow letters "HUMMER" on both sides.

3. Well, that's just swell for that young woman. |
|
Hey, she's helping to deplete the world's oil supply at an even faster rate. You know, so that we have to go to war for oil just so that fucking bitch can drive her fucking Hummer.
But, hey...she has a wreath on her obscene gas guzzler.
Ho Ho fucking Ho

4. Cost aside, why would someone want to drive a Military Vehicle? |
|
That IS what they are...Hum-Vee's, right?
What kind of message does THAT 'send?' Since people first started driving them, I always found it spooky. Like we live in a Military State.

6. The first thing I think of when I see one is "insecure" |
|
Every single one I recall seeing was driven by a middle age balding man. Now that's a class I want to be a part of :eyes:

7. The Hummer H2 is NOT a military vehicle. |
|
It is a Chevy Tahoe with an ugly-ass body bolted on.

9. What cracks me up about Hummers |
|
And SUV's in general, is that probably 98% of the people who buy them never once drive them off road or in any area where they actually need four wheel drive or high clearance or extra power or anything else they offer.
You can drive in a blizzard with front wheel drive and good tires. You can pull a horse trailer or a boat with a standard pick up. You can carry a bunch of kids, soccer balls and a whole lot of groceries in a standard wagon. I used to carry bicycles, skis and all kinds of stuff on a rack on an old VW bug.
All the standard excuses people make for buying these things are largely just that - excuses.
There are exceptions and I'll admit it. My hubby drives a Chevy Tahoe - he's a carpenter and he carries a shitload of tools in the back of it. It's two wheel drive because he doesn't need four wheel and has the sense to know it. When we go shopping or out, we use my car which is a compact that gets about 25 to 30 mpg.
