What is your pick for the worst Christmas movie ever?
The obvious choice is the one with Martians and Santa Claus that they ran on MST3K. I cannot remember the name of that dog but of the ones that are run every year my vote is "Unlikely Angel" with Dolly Parton. Other than Dolly's obvious assets this movie is awful and is the worst knockoff of "It's a Wonderful Life" that was ever made.

I'm sure glad I didn't take a child to see that "Christmas of the Living Dead" fiasco. It freaked me out and for a few hours literally destroyed any Xmas cheer I might have had. What were they thinking when they made that thing??

Santa Clause conqures the Martians is awesome even without the MST3K comentary. ;) At least for it's camp value.
I always hated Santa Clause the Motion Picture, the one with Dudly Moore and John Lithgow.
Dud is right on target.

is with the Gropenfuher and Sinbad looking for an action figure. I can't remember the name of it but thats the worst for me. The Grinch with Carrey also sucked. I still love the original, i think it's because Boris Karloff narrates it.

There's so many contestants that's it's difficult to pick the absolute worst. In fact, I can't think of a good Christmas movie. Worst: Jingle All the Way How the Grinch Stole Christmas Santa Claus, the Movie
Actually I do have a favorite Christmas movie, I can't think of it's name but it's about a boy who wants a BB gun, it takes place in the 30s or 40s. Help me here.

It takes place in Chicago in the 1950s. It was written by Jean Shepard, I think, a humorist from the 60s. It's about the only Xmas movie other than Scrooged that I actually like. The Christmas dinner at the Chinese restaurant scene is hysterical.
"You'll shoot your eye out, kid."
On edit, the worst might have been Jingle All the Way, but there are so many bad ones. I just spent the afternoon trawling Chicago for a place selling trees near the ex's new place, because she was not in the mood for getting one for the child. So daughter and I ended up carrying it about 12 blocks, then its base was too soft for the stand so...etc, etc, etc.
My Xmas cheer is at a low ebb. OTOH, I'm heading out for a Saturnalia party in a couple of hours, so the day is not a total loss. And the kid returned my 50,000 Fall Fans Can't Be Wrong CD. And I got Arcade Fire in the mail last night. So all in all, life is good

10. Do TV specials count? |

If so, I nominate anything by Rankin-Bass. Those puppet animations set my teeth on edge!
