1. It's a great book.

I think you'd be better off reading it and using what you learn about your father on him, than hoping he will read it and learn about himself. :)

It depends on your dad, though. Is your dad into thinking about thinking, i.e., communications or linguistics or psychology? If so, he would probably really appreciate the book.
