Anyone know anything about stereo receivers? |
|
Want to pick one up for my husband - it must have an input for a turntable. Circuit City has a couple...is there a noticable difference between 50 watts per channel and 100 watts per channel? This stereo will be set up in the room right under my toddler's bed room, so it prolly won't be cranked up too loud...
Any input would be appreciated. I'm hoping to spend under $200.

1. At reasonable volumes, |

you'll not hear much of a difference. A 100 watt amp will play a few decibels louder than a 50 watt amp, but nowhere even close to twice as loud. And neither will likely play anything cleanly at peak output. Assuming you'll be keeping the volume knob at the midway point or less most of the time, the wattage difference is negligible.
