Music/musicians you cannot listen to & be in a bad mood at the same time?
Here are the artists/genres I cannot listen to AND be in a bad mood at the same time:

1. Bob Marley/most reggae

2. Van Morrison

3. Ok, I'll admit this one--gulp--John Denver. I first heard "Rocky Mountain High" when I was a young kid and LOVED it. Also that sun on the water making me cry song. I would go around singing that as a kid and it always made me happy.

What are yours?

2. Seconded.
It's impossible to listen to anything from the "Beatlemania" era Beatles and not have a happy, goofy smile on your face...

6. Neil, yeah
definitely.

And let me add Peter, Paul and Mary. I heard them when I was very young all the time (semi-hippy parents) and I find their music very comforting.

15. Rusted Root.
Wow, haven't thought of them in a LOOONNG time, don't even know if they're still together, or what.

But try listening to lyrics like "bublesay bubleyuh" and staying miserable. Not going to happen.

19. I love John Denver!
Sometimes his songs make me cry though especially Sunshine on My Shoulder and Annie's Song. Beautiful music nothing to be ashamed of.

I don't see how I could be sad while listening to funk or disco music. Lately I've been on a Cher kick. :)
