I bought some water color still life reproductions from a lady at a craft show and I really love them. She was an art teacher for many years and only started painting seriously when she retired. Like you she has the ability to create vibrant color in water colors, which is a very difficult task.

it's not necessarily a "talent" for the vibrant colors - just a heavy hand with the pigment
Many years ago I worked in oils and acrylics -- using these mediums is quite different than watercolors....
My partner threatens to stand over me with a baseball bat and whack me when I get tooooo heavy with the paints!
