Actually, Darren McGavin WAS my ol' man - 'cept you could understand HIS swearing. (My sister's first words were "Sunavabitch," thanks to Dad.) I watch "A Christmas Story" every year, if only to toast Francis Patrick - he's been gone for 6 years, but he lives again when the furnace malfunctions.
