2. Delusional reality deniers |
|
they deny reality because it is well known that facts have a liberal bias, and since Rush and Bill O'reilly say that Liberals are what is wrong with America, why then "reality" must some sort of godless pinko plot, so instead "reality" becomes what Fox news and the Bush Administration says it.

8. I'm not even an atheist and I reject the notion it is a religion. |
|
I am an agnostic, but saying atheism is religion is like saying health is a form of sickness.

10. Don't they understand the origin of the word? |
|
The "a" in front of "theism" means the ABSENCE of any theistic belief; ergo, atheism can't possibly be a "religion."

These people DO NOT SPEAK FOR ME. I'd really like them to know THEY DO NOT SPEAK FOR ME.
There is no "war" on Christmas.
Those "secular" songs have been around a very long time. So have the so-called secular traditions surrounding Christmas.
JESUS WAS NOT BLOND.
If these zealots want to celebrate a solely religious Christmas, they are welcome to do so. They can avoid listening to secular songs. They can avoid Santa, mistletoe, and Christmas trees. They can spend 24 hours a day in church if they want to. NO ONE IS STOPPING THEM.
What they cannot do is tell ME how I have to celebrate Christmas. Period. *I* want to listen to Rudolph and Jingle Bells and Winter Wonderland and Deck The Halls. Those people do not own Christmas and they do not own my celebration.
Sorry for shouting.
No, actually, I'm not. These people get me steamed.

6. There Certainly is an Increasing Secularization of Christmas |
|
which parallels the secularization of society. The evangelicals are not making that trend up. The world is more hostile today to the Bible and traditional religion that was a few decades ago.
Which as far as I'm concerned is good news. I understand the evangelical sense of losing ground.
And frankly, I prefer traditional carols. But that "blond-haired savior" song is so awful I can't believe it's real. Our founding fathers would never have sung that dreck.

...it's got to be a parody.
There's nothing else it could possibly be. Right?
Uh, right?
