They forced me to visit the site, and tortured me into browsing the fragrance listings. Even worse, they coerced me by devious and malicious means into bidding on something called "Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Winter Delice",a scent that I have never smelled and may hate. Nevertheless, the demonic entities who run the site brainwashed me into believing that I can't live without the stuff. Naturally,my bid was the winner. Be VERY careful when visiting this site. You have been warned.

I like this thread.
I should be getting my latest purchase from ebay in the mail tomorrow... Those vile hucksters and their addictive merchandise.

8. oh, but you haven't heard my most awful confession, Myra ... |
|
A few weeks ago, I bid on a press kit for the Bush 9/11 movie. I was trying to get a copy of it on video so I could write an article for an upcoming book, about the administration's use of propaganda .... so I justified it as research.
I don't know what was scarier, the fact that I actually went up to $50 US (so more than $70 Canadian) -- or that somebody else hovered around watching the auction and then outbid me in the last 15 seconds.
I have got to hope that it was Peggy Noonan or Bush's own mom doing this, because I can't imagine a normal person being willing to go to such lengths.
Re: the lawn sprinkler, actually I have found it a good home with a local Victorian heritage garden ... the people who run it were quite pleased, because they are hoping to feature authentic period tools etc. -- but I know what you mean, I had better be pretty careful from now on!
