Back in Dallas for a few days.
It is exactly 980 miles driveway-to-driveway. The dogs did very well. Nick-the-Quick rides in a kennel crate. Old Sirius rides curled up on the front passenger seat of my Subaru wagon. The car smells like a kennel now.

I have the pit stops down to a science. I carry two sets of car keys and leave the car running for A/C while I walk and water each dog singly. Once they are through and back in the car, I hit the restroom. Once the weather cools I won't have to leave the car running. 'Course, like Ms/Dr DemoTex says, maybe I won't have to make the drive too many more times.

I'll probably head back to NC next Tuesday or Wednesday.

1. That CANNOT be a fun drive
But, if you want a REAL challenge, my household has a 3-year old we can loan you for your next cross country adventure. How loud and long can your dogs scream? ;-)

4. Not a fun drive!
But nary a peep from the dogs. Normally rambunctious Nick-the-Quick was quiet as a mouse the entire two-day drive. They were both great in the motel room last night in Meridian, Mississippi.

Tonight, however, Nick is giving me hell. I'm too tired to deal with his enthusiasm.

5. Not until the Dallas house sells
And it is not even back on the market yet. I'll be going back next week for perhaps two months. After that, I'll play it by ear. Maybe we need a Dallas area reunion!
