Our coach built your team ;)..Seriously, I think Illinois is very good, but I thought Ga Tech was very good too and then they lost. I think Kansas, once we get Wayne Simien back in 4-6 weeks will be a contender for the Title...I also think NC, Duke and Oklahoma State are very good, along with Syracuse. And there are a bunch of other good teams about one tier down. Remember, the tourney has a lot of luck attached to it. The best team doesn't always win.
I would be very, very surprised if any team went undefeated this year.

But I haven't really been that impressed with Kansas so far this year. They still haven't played a road game or beaten anyone of note. I was really looking forward to their game against Tech on New Year's Day but with Simien out it won't be a true representation of their team.
And as far as Self goes, you can make all sorts of claims that he "built the team", but then he bailed on them. What does that say about him? ;-)
Plus, they're doing far better with Weber at the helm than they ever did with Self.
I sooooo want to see those two play each other in the tourney...
Edit: Yes. I am still bitter. Even though I like Weber a lot more...

2. Usually a Big Ten team would have a tough time going undefeated. |

But this year the Big 10, with the exception of the Illini are weak.
Still, Illinois is gonna have to play at Iowa, at Wisconsin and at Michigan State.
I don't know about undefeated, but 29-1 looks pretty doable. And Illinois is currently rated as being 10 points better than anyone else in the country. Even if they played at #2 Okla State, the Illini would be favored by 4.

6. Sorry, but you really need not look outside the ACC |
|
for basketball this year. When your conference comprises over a quarter of the Top 25, who has time for the piddling "3 or 4 teams in the Top 25" conferences? :P

8. Say what you want, but the Big Ten is tough every year. |
|
Seems to me that every year the Big Ten is not an easy conference, in spite of the win loss records on the books when the season is over. I'll be surprised if the Illini go undefeated.
It'd sure be cool if they could however, I'm another one that was left bitter by Self's departure...
