Is there a forum where political disagreement must be civilly conducted? |
|
Someone just asked me and I can't think of a one, where right and left debate and flaming, insults, etc., are strictly prohibited.

When the sides are as divided as we are, civil discourse is impossible.

3. I didn't think it was possible either. |

Something about the faceless nature of Internet discourse discourages civility--or encourages incivility--in political arguments.

but I think it's partly the subject matter. Discourse requires some compromise, or at least an understanding of the other side's views. When they're talking about creationism and we're past talking about evolution and have gone on to global warming, it's like we're on different planets which speak completely different languages.
Now Dems not being able to converse amongst themselves I can't explain so easily!
