Update on the Ankle from Hell
Anyone remember my bitching about my ankle and the subsequent garbage from my HR department about it?

I finally saw my orthopedic surgeon today. She said I've strained the peroneal tendon. She injected me with god knows what, apparently using the biggest needle known to human medicine. It was numb for a while, but that's worn off and now it bloody hurts, almost as much as it did last week when this started. But when it stops hurting, it'll be better for a few days.

I am supposed to do some exercises and to walk as normally as possible. Mrs. V. bought me a nice tight brace, which I don't need for support but damn, it makes the ankle feel good. Doc says that that makes sense and I can continue to wear it.

Thanks for all your advice, DUers, and for listening, throughout this minor (in retrospect) ordeal and through my rants and bitches and "ISN'T THIS A CUTE KITTEN/CAT???" posts for these last 14 months.

DU, :yourock:

Oh, PS: About the dealings with HR: I've managed an end-around their unfathomable procedures with the help of some kind soul who went off on vacation until January 1. This co-worker, unaware of the situation, just up and gave me her December parking sticker. So I can park in the building until the new year. Woo hoo!

1. Glad to hear you should be getting some relief soon.
And how cool is that? She just gave you her parking sticker out of the blue? I want coworkers like that!

4. Co-workers like this are few & far between, redqueen. I usually call them
cow-irkers. And this one's an attorney!!

But once in a while along comes a co-worker who brings tears to your eyes. Just like when you cross a donkey with an onion . . .

5. It was something different.
She usually gives me cortisone in my back. Today I asked her what it was and she said some twenty-syllabled name that started w/ a "D."

As long as it works. :)
