What if there had been Three Wise Women instead of Three Wise Men |
They would have been there before the birth, cleaned up the stables, made a casserole, and brought useful gifts

2. Unfortunately, the "useful" gifts would be worthless for symbolism, |
and so would be edited into more symbolic trinkets, the casserole would have been removed, since such food would have been foreign and bizarre to the writers of the Gospels, the stable-cleaning would be removed, as it implies that Jesus would have been born into unacceptable conditions were it not for three gentiles, and moreover noblewomen working menial tasks would seem unrealistic, being before the birth would probably have to go, since it would imply that the Messiah was late in coming, and, finally, since it would seem insane that far-off lands be symbolically represented by women (the Kingdom of God is to lord over...the weakness women were associated with?), the women would have to become men. So there you go.

3. They would have arrived on the 22nd |
...because they would have stopped at the oasis to ask directions and pee.
Unlike the three "wise" men. (Lawerence, Curlient, and MOhammed)
