All-Woman Air Force Band Reunites In Little Rock For Concert

Yes, it's true! The US Women In The Air Force Band reunited to play for the first time in nnearly forty years. The members, who range in age from 58 to 75, gathered to pay tribute to the late Captain Marybelle Nissly, who was the band's leader.

Nissly helped to turn the ragtag bunch of amateur musicians into a hard-rocking group that grooved its way through such funky classics as "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring."

At first, the "gals" had trouble with getting back into the "swing" of things. But, with the assistance of guest conductor Phyllis Daughterty, the band quickly fell comfortably into place.

The band's concerts, which continued through Saturday, surely set the world's collective foot a-tappin'.
