2. HUGE fan here! The greatest songwriters!! |
|
I have actually converted some Bee Gees non-believers in my time. The One Night Only DVD is pure bliss!! :loveya: My fav is Words... but New York Mining Disaster 1941 and Morning of My Life are up there, too!!
Words: Smile an everlasting smile, a smile can bring you Near to me. Don’t ever let me find you down, cause that would Bring a tear to me. This world has lost it’s glory, let’s start a brand New story now, my love. Right now, there’ll be no other time and I can show You how, my love.
Talk in everlasting words, and dedicate them all to Me. And I will give you all my life, I’m here if you Should call to me. You think that I don’t even mean a single word i Say. It’s only words, and words are all I have, to take Your heart away

5. If you haven't yet, you must read.... |
|
this Bee Gees biography....The Bee Gees: Tales of the Brothers Gibb.
I have read every musician's/singer's/band's biography I can get my hands on and this book is, hands down, the best biography I have read.

6. Thanks! I will. They are so underrated/misunderstood. |

People my age (I'm 32) and younger tend to associate them only with disco, and not the full breadth and depth of their work. They have so many excellent ballads! Like I said, the One Night Only disk has really helped open eyes to their work, it's a great sample of their work.
Pure geniuses!

That's a good song. "Lonely Days, Loney Nights" is also another good one.

But I do love all the above too!
"Smile an everlasting smile, a smile can bring you near to me. Don't ever let me find you gone, cause that would bring a tear to me. This world has lost its glory, let's start a brand new story now, my love. Right now, there'll be no other time and I can show you how, my love.

Now I want to go put on some of my Bee Gee ALbums!
RIP Maurice! Happy B/day Robin! (Barry is/was my favorite!) Don't forget their younger brother Andy - RIP Andy!
