Dr Who to return
I'm not a fan, but I found this on Usenet, and figured some fans here would like to know.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/tv_and_radio/3140786.stm

BBC News Online has confirmed news going around the net for the last few
hours.

BBC Wales will produce a new Doctor Who series for BBC One. It will be
written by Russell T Davies (creator of Queer As Folk) and aimed at family
audiences like the traditional series.

The BBC's article has a lot more details. Looks like the series is at least
2 years from a premiere, and the Doctor has not yet been cast.

http://www.gallifreyone.com/ is following this in detail as well.

6. my favourite Dr Who memory
Chattacon, 1984. A bunch of Who fans in the hotel, running around with these insanely long scarves trailing behind them.

Somehow, we contrived to step on every single scarf. Repeatedly. :-)

NEW Dr Who!!! I am too excited! I was really into the series in the 1980s, even attended more than a few conventions!
