5. Yeah, insomniac me working on Excel |
|
My job involves sports statistics. I finally pestered goldsheet.com enough, and they posted the 2002-2003 college basketball and NBA logs yesterday, several months later than usual. The next couple of weeks are going to be tedious all-nighters while I put together several Excel workbooks that should have been finished in late summer.

Running AP news and local news....it sucks, the money is shit, but it's a job. Plus I have been giving some of the anchors leads on certain things not so mainstream and they are doing their reading and research. Just trying to do my part to keep the playing field as fair as possible. ;-)

22. Nurses are awesome in my book!!! |
|
I was sick with leukemia last year and as much as the docs did to cure me, it was the nurses that totally took it to the max. Advocating for me, being there through all the crap, night and day. Nurses are totally underappreciated in medicine in my opinion.

I often joke about our nurse/patient interactions but I truely love nursing. It is a pure outreach to humanity. I know we make a difference. It's so nice to hear that we are appreciated. O8)

I've been sitting here procrastinating for the last several nights. Insomnia combined with extreme lack of motivation, that's my excuse for being awake at 5:33 EST.

10. Are these cures for insomnia or lack of motivation? |

Actually, you're correct, I usually feel a little more like writing after a beer or two. Down to the fridge, greet the sun with a Corona.

I would tip one myself except I may just fall asleep...which would be naughty as the commercials wouldn't get played and then I won't get paid...ever again from these guys.
I knew one guy that had had enough of radio and was going into work to board op an overnight shift (playing tunes and running a voice track). He got extremely toasted and after the person he took over for left the building he proceeded to turn the microphone on and let loose with a expletive laden tirade the likes I had never heard before!!!!
I think he's working construction or something now!

I'm going on a job interview at 8:30 am. Job as Nurse Manager at a Women's Clinic. I already have a job, just looking for better hours and no weekends!
I'll keep my on-call job working at the State Prisons, Infirmary's.
I'm getting out my Portfolio to take along. Makes me look good!
I got to wear high heels too. :puke:
Nurses hate high heels.

Oh, what a care plan I could develope! I'd start with a cathartic. I can't decide if I want it to be oral, which has a delayed reaction but hte course can be grueling...Or...the direct and instant route; the good old "high colonic".... you know, the the H's...

20. I don't mind nightshifts.... |
|
although as I get older they suck more and more. My problem is not being able to get a good sleep during the day. Wife and kids are gone, it's just me and the cats in bed. I sleep like a log for about 4 hours and then wake up and I can't get back to sleep. So I get up, have some java, check in at DU and see what WhistleAss has fucked up and just bum around the house until it's time to go back to work again. At least my night shifts are pretty sporadic so it's not like I do them all the time or too many in a row.

23. I do the same thing with the 4 hours of sleep! |
|
The thing that makes it rough for me is I work 12-hour shifts. I do 2 days i a row then off 2 or 3 days....I can't find balance.
At work, I supervise and have time to DU from about 10:30pm til 4 am....but I do work in between too. My staff is extremely needy and don't seem to think outside the box!
