Mindless Entertainment. Good special effects. If you have a decent home theater, it should be OK.

3. Lame but not oh-crap-that's-two-hours-I'll-never-get-back bad.
Given that you got it for free, I guess it's a good deal.

4. Not a bad disaster flick.
My 6 year old son LOVES it, so we bought it.

I think it's worth seeing once. Not as silly as Independence Day, but pretty silly.

5. Waiting for it to hit the last chance pay per view channel because
it will only cost $1.99 to see it! My kind of movie, totally brainless.

6. The special effects are good.
It was OK for a disaster flick, but the science behind it is flawed at best.

I really don't understand the hatred from the right concerning this movie.

7. It's a thrill ride. Dennis Quaid still can't act. Film at 11.
But it's fun, anyhow.

Just don't take the compressed time frame for the climatic developments too seriously.

14. And the Bubble Boy is his son.
I kept wondering when the guy was going to don his heated bubble and escape the glacier. I couldn't get past the Bubble Boy being cast as the son.

9. Sorry. It does suck, though.
On the plus side, it has massive liberal bias.

21. If you like Science Fiction...you'll like it.
Science Fiction folks will accept a lot when it comes to films.
There's movies that I have watched that if they were in any other genre I would have stopped watching them before the clock ticked off 15 minutes.

Keep in mind that "The day after tomorrow" is WAY better than "Independence Day"

11. It's better than Independence Day...
You don't end up thinking "what a waste of time!", but it isn't a great movie either...

It was designed just to amuse you and realize how great special effects are.

Don't expect anything wonderful, but it's ok... watch it!

12. Yeah, speaking of Independence Day...
Those aliens really should have gone ahead and spent the money on a decent firewall/virus package.

13. I bought that POS. Worst movie I ever saw. Completely inflated in...
the trailer. You know all the stuff in the trailer that makes the movie look really good? Well, you could just watch the two minute trailer and save about an hour and a half to watch a real movie.

Biggest waste of money ever. I could have kicked myself for that impulse purchase.

15. VP?
anyone think that the vp in the movie slightly (by slightly i mean really a whole lot) resembles Cheney? cuz yea, i thought he did...

(pshaw, the president wouldn't be the LAST person to leave...bush wouldn't have even been in washington, he'd be on vacation in texas)

meh...

"oh no, badly cgi'ed wolves!"

17. I heard Republicans (read: Bush) were outraged about the film
because of it's references to global warming.

18. Yes, they were...Yes, the VP STRONGLY resembles Cheney...and yes....
You should STILL Watch it...

A "Thrill Ride" isn't a bad way to spend two hours...and the effects are marvelous...and...Watching NYC take a big hit without anything actually being destroyed is fun again. It's been a long time since anyone like me (a NYC native) could say that.

Make the popcorn, already!

:bounce:  :silly:  :bounce:

22. Horrible, brutally bad movie. Good effects.
Just skip right to the weather effect parts and then turn it off.
