My kitty is missing
I can't find him. My other kitty is freaking out. I don't know where he is. I don't even know where to begin to try to find him. I'm really freaking out...

2. Aaaw what a sweetie..
If he's an indoor kitty, check for cupboard doors that minght have been open..He might be curled up asleep in bedspread fold on the floor..
Could he have been accidentally shut in a seldom used room??

Do you have any sound that he always responds to.. a kitty treats can, can opener, front door shutting?? Try making that noise..

If he's an outdoor cat, there are so many possibilities, that I can't imagine what could have happened to him..

Mine are indoorsies, and every so often one of them goes off for a nap, and we freak out looking for them.. Mommie cat crawled inside of a box at the back of a closet once, and we were so worried about her.. We looked for her for HOURS, and my husband looked in that closet, which had only been open a little bit, and there she was..

I hope you find him :)

3. He's an indoor kitty
I've torn apart the apartment looking for him. He's not under any of the furniture. I've checked all the closets and all of the cabinets. I've even emptied the clothes hamper, torn apart all the bedding and he comes to me calling him. He knows his name. :-(

6. When was the last time you saw him??
If no one has come to or left your apartment since then, you KNOW he's in the apartment..

If there are no window screens missing or loose, or windows open, he's got to be there.. He may just be a good hider.. If he DID get out, ask your neighbors if they have seen him.. He might do what ours have done when they accidentally got out.. They run and hide in shrubbery.. You might want to check around the buildiing..

You might also ask children.,. They usually notice small animals more than adults..

fingers crossed here :)

8. I think I saw him yesterday morning
we always have the window onto the deck open. They do go out there, but we are on the third story, I don't think he'd jump. I've been outside and checked under the house, the shrubs, in the trees, under the cars, and on the neighbors' decks. :-(

4. Mine Made A Hole In The Bottom Of The Box Springs
And crawled up in there for a good nap.

You might try opening a can of tuna and placing it where he will find it or running the cat-signal (can opener).

7. Closet...
If there are shelves in the closet check on those. My cat got up there one day and we couldn't find her. Finally I heard her mewing. She got up there but couldn't figure out how to get back down.

Best of luck!

9. Perhaps he is like mine and will return after venturing out in the world.
One of my 3 cats used to regularly disappear for 2 or 3 wks at a time.
She always came back...it seemed to be a part of her character to just want to venture out every so often...Perhaps your cat will be the same....I'll hope for the best for you!

12. He is adorable. I hope you find him. When did he take up residence
in your home? In my experience, some kittens will disappear for days when they're new to a place.

13. Cats can walk through walls
Look in places where you'd figure there's no way in hell a cat would be able to get there.

Mine has taken to hiding in a box on top of a huge speaker column. There's absolutely no way for her to get up there but I've seen her jumping down.

14. Inside: closets, drawers, dryer, sofabed. Outside: trees, garages, bushes
I had a kitten climb into an airvent once (baseboard).
The above are typical places.
Get a can of his favorite food and call his name and bang on the can with the spoon - make a racket so he can hear you all the way to a tree top. He is probably hungry by now and will respond to food - do the same inside - but not so loud! Let us know if you find him- he's adorable.

16. Don't give up, Curse10
http://www.cnn.com/2003/TECH/ptech/09/26/cat.returns.ap/index.html

Plus, Male got out of the house during last year's Super Bowl.

She was gone over a month.

I was sure I'd never see her again. Then one day she showed up in the back yard, hungry and tired.

Just don't give up.

I know... he's a strange cat.

I just came back from posting signs all over the neighborhood and talking to all the kids I saw. They've seen him, so he's around here somewhere.

Stay positive.

When I had cats in an apt. I had the outside deck enclosed with lattice panels. It actually looked really nice.

21. The whole balcony is closed in
he must have done a jumper. Probably chasing a moth. Silly kitty.

I haven't been able to eat. I'm tired, but I don't want to go to sleep. I must have walked around the three block radius twenty times now. We got a false alarm. Somebody called thinking they had found him, but it wasn't him. Got my hopes up. :-(

22. Feline Wanderlust
Sometimes cats wander off to see if they can find a softie to take them in. We adopted one cat who came begging at the door, only to find out she had another family that cared for her, loved her, took her to the vet for shots, etc.

Cats aren't as loyal as people think. We had a male who found another home but continued to work us for meals and a place to sleep. We knew something was up when the other family had him altered. I remember how shocked I was when he bounded up the stairs ahead of me. Incredible!
