"I'm....dreaming.....of a Whiiiite Christmas.....in *Houston*?
:bounce:

They're sticking by their forecast of possible rain tunring to snow tonight. We shall see. Last time I saw snow for Christmas I was living in Denver (1989).

1. Would make for some fun in Houston
for the kiddies but us folks that have to drive to work in it - well, Houstonians just don't know how to drive in it.

If there's snow on the ground in the morning I think I'll stay home.

5. Here in New Iberia Louisiana, too!
Weather forecast says possible snow, sleet or freezing rain tomorrow.
They say the best chance for the white or freezing stuff is the area south of I-10. Who woulda' thought. Everyone along the west and central Gulf coast, please be careful! :hi:

6. Well, here in Chicago it's 8 degrees Fahrenheit
with a pristine blue sky and a wind chill of about -10 degrees.

No snow predicted here, however, in the "snow belt" of Indiana, about 40 miles away, different story altogether. It's snowing like a bitch there right now. Wouldn't want to be driving east on I 80-94 or south on I-65 today at all.

7. It sure would be nice for my girls to see snow
however we live north of I-10. Plus, I'm hoping that this will be our last Christmas here anyway!!

8. Well, you be careful down there.
Make sure you stop at the store and get two weeks worth of bread, milk, and toilet paper. That's the Pittsburgh Plan, and it seems to work well.

:hi: Richardo!

11. Hell freezes over. Red Sox Win World Series. Bulls win 5 in a row.
If this keeps up, I might just get laid.

16. Haven't seen any sort of frozen precipitation here (Houston) since '89 or
'90, IIRC.

It'll be a nice change from the usual Christmas weather - 60°, overcast, and humid (of course, "humid" is a given).

:hi: fellow Houston DUers!

17. We've got flurries in our forcast too, here in Central Tejas
But we're more prone to it that the H-Town area is.

For you non-Texans out there, it is a rarity to see snowfall outside of the Panhandle. We usually manage to get an inch or so every year here in the Austin area, or at least an ice storm or two, but serious snowfall is something that we don't see very often.

Makes driving real fun for us.

18. Yes, few know how to drive in winter weather (myself included!)
Get half an inch of snow or ice on the roads and whole cities shut down.

19. In Fort Worth, yesterday's snow is still lingering around, and it
is only going up to 35 today.

Weird weather for December, we usually don't get our snow or ice storms until January/February

20. My kids are thrilled, I'm not
Nobody here knows how to drive on frozen roads...they can barely drive in the rain. Work will live without me again tomorrow even if I feel better if we actually get this weather. (I only live ten minutes away, but I don't care)
