Rubio's afficionados outside of California: Is it catching on?
I remember when they announced they were going public and nationwide. I love their fish tacos and shrimp/lobster burritos, but I also remember thinking, "this is unlikely to really succeed nationally." Mainly because the food is pricey (for "fast food"), and the concept is a little too alien for a lot of people. I was trying to envision people in Philly or Kentucky who hadn't had them, say "let's go get fish tacos."

I noticed on the web site that they've only spread to some western states, CO being the eastern most. Are they popular there?

I see from the stock ticker that it's been up and down.

3. I wish they were in New Jersey. It's one of the only things I miss from
San Diego.

4. Oh, I miss the weather, and the ocean, and actually being near
some liberals, even if San Diego was "red" overall. (living in TX now)

5. I certainly don't miss having Duke Cunningham, nutcase, as my congress
creature. (Now I have Rush Holt who has something with which Cunningham was spectacularly unfamiliar, a Brain.)

I don't miss thinking how I could never afford a $400,000 house in a bad neighborhood with lousy underfunded schools. I don't miss the traffic on I-5/805.

I do miss Torrey Pines State Beach, Black's Beach, the UCSD library, oh, and Rubio's.

But man, if I lived in Texas, I imagine I'd miss everything in San Diego.
