Does windows xp pro have anything over xp home? |
|
I am a home user and just use it on my desk-top machine. I installed winxp home on this machine and after I installed service pack 2, I started getting corrupt registry messages and memory write problems. I tried windows repair but- it doesn't work because the disk I have is service pack1. Should I invest in a copy of XPpro with service pack2 or try an alternative O/S? If I use an alternative will my programs work with it?
I wish Microsoft would sell a product that worked a little better.

2. I doubt Pro would help. |

You might go to Download.com and download a good registry cleaner and try that.
Good luck.

i have had sp2 be a contributing factor to some flakey issues on a couple of pc's at work.
