FRANK ZAPPA's first grandchild was born on Tuesday!
Moon Unit Zappa gave birth to Frank Zappa's first grandchild
(Mathilda Plum Doucette) on December 21, 2004, which would
have been her late father's sixty-fourth birthday.

2. I heard that in spite of being one of the most brilliant musicians ever,
Frank was a pretty shitty family man.

6. Absolute BULLSHIT
That was the stupid conclusion of a recent biographer. Read Frank's OWN book and you can see how he speaks GLOWINGLY of his family.

Jesus fucking christ! No wonder this place pisses me off.

9. Calm down, bud! Those of us in the know are well aware that Zappa was...

...a damned good father. If you ever saw the picture sleeve of "Valley Girl," you'd see a teen-aged girl whose facial expression does NOT suggest that her father didn't treat her well!

I bought "Valley Girl" when the single was in the Top 40, but my copy did not, alas, come with the picture sleeve. :nopity:

13. Sorry, but I read an interview from Moon Unit in which she said she
was forced to communicate with her father by passing notes under the studio door. She said she had very few conversations with him.

I think that's kinda from the horse's mouth. Here's a reference to the recent review of a Zappa biography.

http://users.forthnet.gr/ath/gsergakis/zappa.htm

I am a big admirer of Frank Zappa's but I actually believe that most human beings are NOT Gods, but human beings. Sorry if you "hate this place," because of the proposition that Frank had faults, but it's just what I read.

Personally, I think Frank would have found the proposition that he was some kind of faultless God somewhat absurd, but that's just my opinion.

He was a workaholic (and yes, I know he wasn't a god, but like him, I think for myself), and she was 15, a self-conscious insecure age. He was there for them when he was needed.

That incident doesn't rate his fatherhood.

I don't "hate this place", and never said I did. Anyone who can read sees that I said it pisses me off sometimes. Is it any wonder why?

24. Brian Wilson was a pretty shitty family man
Frank was a good family man and all you have to do is take a look at his kids and you can see that he was a good family man.

Did you read that little ditty about Frank being a bad father in a magazine?

It could be some BS put out by the right wingers because Frank wasn't a rethug and he was an activist.

Now, Moon Unit has to remind her daughter "Not to Eat yellow Snow", or she's gonna "Wind up Working in a Gas Station". Is Moon aso going to take her daughter to "St. Alfonso's Pancake Breakfast"?

7. for Moon, it must have been a day of joy
mixed with sadness that her father could not be there. But somehow, I think Frank is smiling down on his granddaughter.
