This is one majorly crappy day....
Edited on Fri Sep-26-03 12:45 PM by blm
Those of you who know more about me than others will understand. Palmer was someone I had spent alot of time with when we shared rehearsal studio space in the 80s (good old S.I.R). He was a big fan of my exSO and we'd occasionally meet for dinners. He was SO nice, and was VERY nice to my cat who would always wander into his studio. (The catlovers should appreciate that)

Plimpton was a closer longtime friend of my exSO, who was also a writer (passed away in 94). They had an odd, interesting relationship that I never really shared, but, if MO'D liked him it was good enough for me.

It's a crappy day.

2. Condolences
I heard about Robert Palmer on my drive in to work, and immediately remembered all those nights in college I spent dancing in some club or other to his music. Very sad, and so young!

I had not heard about George Plimpton. Sending good vibes your way.

3. Naaa Duuu, blm...
Can we get a mutual hug going here... I just found out yesterday that Julius Baker (my FAVORITE flute playing "dirty old man," as a student I always got to call him Juli'at HIS insistence) AND Lucianio Berio, the father of a dear friend, BOTH passed this year... :sigh: ((((hug)))).

10. Thanks all....
I do dislike getting to that age when death seems to call more often for those around you. I know there are plenty of you baby boomers to share that thought.

Better days are coming and remember, their pain is over, it is those of us left behind who suffer. If you believe in an afterlife (or even if you don't)you can imagine your SO greeting Palmer and Plimpton with joy and love.

I have a friend whoes death I dread because he has had a really hard life and It doesn't seem fair to die without ever having been really happy. But then I imagine him walking into the arms of his Grandmother (the only person who loved him unconditionally and showed it) and it makes me feel better.

6. How weird and sad
It's bad enough for everyone that they both died so young and unexpectedly, but it must be awful for you who had connections to both. I'll send you white light.

7. It just feels like a small chunk
of my personal history has been lost in one day.

9. I loved Robert Palmer!
He did great pop-rock songs, and always seemed so classy. I just loved his whole snazzy suit-and-tie look while wioelding his guitar!

Yes, very sad for someone so talented to die so young. :-(
