Anyone familiar with digital video cameras- I have a question.
Is there an adaptor that could allow me to play a mini-DV tape in a standard DV camcorder?

Thanks

2. Mini DV is the standard for DV

you must be trying to play micro DV on minidv or MiniDV on Hi8 DV, neither of which is possible - the tape width is different so the tape had scan pattern is incompatible, even if there was a shuttle to make the it fit in the transport. Also the spool hubs are in different places...

There was VHS-C which had an adaptor to play in VHS; that's what you are wishfully thinking of.
