I bought the adults useful gifts--like shirts and gloves. None of that silly giftware. I bought toys for the kid. I baked cookies, put up a tree, wrapped gifts for charity, donated money to the city mission, and I'm planning to cook for two days straight. first, I have subjected the george bush-jesus tree to repeated electrical shocks and hot lamps. so far to no avail, but I plan to keep trying.

second, I actually wished my Jewish friends "Happy Hanukkah" and I've said "Happy Holidays," "Happy Solstice" and even Happy "Xdays" numerous times.

third, I intend to rip the christmas eve pork roast to shreds with my bare hands.

fourth, I spent almost no money down at JesusMart this year.

that and the punji sticks in the fireplace so when the baby jesus comes down the chimney, he'll have a nasty surprise waiting for him.

oh, and the "Happy Holidays" message I've been scratching into the paint of any SUV sporting a "support the troops" yellow ribbon. Parking lots are quite target rich environments this time of year.
