I just had a great idea!
In another thread I was talking about a sign in front of a church down the street from me that says, "Bible questions? Call Mike xxx-xxx-xxxx." The next time I drive by should I write down the phone number and post it here at DU so we could all call and ask questions? :-)

1. That would be excellent,
I have a question no religious person I know has been able to answer. It's take a long time to articulate but I'm thinking I could make his head explode.

2. Love It!
Where are those question like, what is a good price to get for my daughter if I sell her into slavery? My neighbor violates the Sabbath, should I smite him or get the police to do it?

It has the Chapter, Verse, etc.

3. That would be very interesting
in that I would ask what translation of the Bible is used in that church. I would also ask if the person has read other translations, or perhaps even studied the earliest texts in Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic. I'd then ask if he had read any of the newer works in this field that translate from the ancient texts directly into English.

I obviously have, and I think it would shock many to find out, for example, that the first line of the Lord's prayer doesn't mention a "Father" or a "Mother", for that matter. It talks about the creative force that is ongoing and personal. As you can tell, I could go on and on about this, which would probably prompt the fellow to either get into a long phone conversation with me or hang up!

5. ROFL!
I have a feeling he's one of those fundies that only wants the simple questions. He'll probably have his number changed after I post it. I have to run some errands in an hour or so and I swear I'm going to drive by and write down the phone number and come back here and post it. hahahahahahaha. :-)
