1957 was the largest year for births in the baby boom generation. We were like the youngest kids in our big families.

Here's to all the latter boomers! :hi:

prom song - Stairway to Heaven

Nixon had just ended the draft (hooray)

Big music thing was "glitter rock", Bowie, Lou Reed ("walk on the wild side"), Mott the Hoople, New York Dolls, etc.

Encountered my first bong. Used zig-zagz prior to that moment.

42. '74 for me, too
We had a couple of interesting choices for songs.

"In My Life" by the Beatles
"Hands of Time" from Brian's Song (Michel le Grand)

I don't remember a lot about it, though. I just remember when we threw our hats up in the air, I never recovered it. :(

I also remember one of my closest relatives (my aunt) showing up as tipsy as could be--what an embarassment that was!

Relatively small graduating class--181, I think it was. I haven't been to any reunions. There weren't too many people that I really cared for that much during that time--I was busy with a lot of outside things at the time, instead. It was also the last graduating class of all girls from "Girls Latin School." The next class had boys, and they were also changing the name of the school to Boston Latin Academy.

9. Miamisburg Senior High- Class of 1991
Bush the Elder was prez. The Persian Gulf war happened during my senior year and "hell no" I wasn't going to let them draft me- lol. Nirvana and the Seattle sound was the next big thing on the radio. I started to go insane and it would be 13 years before that was resolved. I'm 32 now and I do not wish to go back into the past. If I had the choice I'd stay the same age as I am now forever.

You'll notice in teh picture she had perfectly straight hair. She had her hair done that afternoon and about an hour before I picked her up, the curls started falling out, So she washed her hair again and went with straight hair.

Prom theme: "Don't You Forget About Me" and graduation theme was "Alive and Kicking," both by Simple Minds. Perhaps that says something about our class. :silly:

There are alot of old farts here! hehehe.. I'm jealous! No seriously, I always felt that I was born too late. I wish I had been a teenager in the 60s. There were many significant events, (political and non political) that happened in our country when I was very little or wasn't even born.. wish I had been older then to be able to participate. sigh...

I graduated in 1983.

34. High school dropout here
I was supposed to graduate in '79. Dropped out halfway through my senior year. I didn't want to - I'd left home at 15 and worked and went to school. But by my senior year, I was sick of hitchhiking back and forth and work seemed a lot more real and necessary to me than school. Work paid the bills. Besides, I was failing my history class because I couldn't keep up with the homework since I worked nights and I couldn't graduate without that credit anyway.

to even dance or even talk to anybody else. My prom dress dropped into the toilet so the bottom of it was all wet.

At least my date was a good friend so we could laugh about it all...

Dropped out after 3 months and hitchhiked across the country.

Edit: Think it would have been '74 if I'd gone, but never kept track.

Carter was president. Inflation and high gas prices were our biggest problems. The Iranians hadn't taken anybody hostage yet. Nobody thought that Ronald Reagan would ever get elected president (Who? That actor?)

John Travolta had some big movies that summer.

Hard to believe. I even ran into my old geometry teacher the other day. He worked until he was 75, which was a couple of years ago. Still pretty sharp too.
