My Repub Son and D-i-l had the nerve to bring in a W sign.. |
|
I'm still seething. We had our Christmas today since our granddaughter that lives with us will be at her Daddy's on x-mas day. Everything was going well, we'd eaten, exchanged gifts, and Santa(hubby) made his annual appearance for the two granddaughters.
Just as they were loading up their car and getting ready to leave, my son comes back in and had the audacity to place a "W is for women" rally sign on the high chair. He made some kind of comment about pictures that D-i-l had taken at a Bushit rally. Hubby said he was going to puke and I somewhat lost it. Hubby gave the "heil" salute..and I went off on "our leader" billboards yada yada.
WTF..what the heck is wrong with these Bushit people..and this one is my kid?? He knows his father was without work for a year and that we had no medical insurance for even longer, that he'd been through two plants closings, that his retirement/pension plan has been turned over to the PBGC. He knows his sister was without a job for almost a year.
I didn't raise him to be that way. I felt like we were slapped in the face.

1. He probably just thought he was gonna fun the ol' lady...hahahaha.. |
|
I think that was incredibly rude and insensitive. I'd never do that to my parents now that I'm an adult. (In my youth...well...I was good MOST of the time.)
But I know there are certain things that set my parents off, so I choose not to push those buttons because I love and respect my parents.
Good thing we're all liberals though.

2. I'm sorry for your confrontation |

that was the height of insensitivity, showed utter lack of empathy and compassion, was disconnected from reality, embodied complete disrespect for right and wrong and showed a shocking willingness to be cruel. Pretty much the same traits that make one a repuke.
I've cut off all personal relationships with repukes. I can not tolerate fascists.

..."I brought you in this world, and I'll take you out of it." Unfortunately, abortions in the 86th trimester are pretty much illegal, so, don't know what to tell you.

I'm sorry that your son is insensitive (at least all of my Republican relatives know not to bring up politics with me). Happy holidays!

Freeze his sorry ass out for 6-8 months. When he gets his, when the economy hits the shits...well, you know what to do.
That was very confrontational and very disrespectful. He sounds like an ass.

8. I'm waiting for my confrontation tomorrow. |

Dear old dad and brother are big time righties. I'm in no mood to give an inch, Christmas or not. I cannot now, nor will I ever forgive those people for putting chimpy back in the WH.
Sorry to hear about your family.
Thing is, these should be the happiest people on the planet right now. They've got the political power by the balls in this country and do you think they could be happy? I don't see any smiling faces among them. There's a deep-seated hatred within them that winning an election will not cure. I'm firmly convinced it's a mental disorder.

13. That's not possible with them. |

Just like so many other repugs they've got to have their rants about welfare and those damned environmentalists. They just can't help themselves. This anger consumes them. Thing is they really believe they're having an intellectual discussion.

but her Daddy is also a repuke. Maybe we can get one as long as she keeps it here.
My daughter has shared parenting with her ex. When granddaughter wanted to take a Kerry rally sign to Daddy's home for her room, she got Daddy's permission with the stipulation that it stay in her room. Then he made her burn it the night after the election. She's only 5 and was so sad when she told us about it.
Repukes are just cruel..

I'm not going to speak to him for a while, until I can tell him calmly how much it hurts that he hasn't realized the damage that B* has caused not only to this country but to his own parents.
He's married to a repub. and I know she and her Mom have had a lot of influence in changing his political views. It's all about the money, how much you have, how much you spend on things, the name brand etc.
Sigh..I miss the way my son used to be..

chapter search to the scene where Alice releases Ebenezer from his marriage pledge, and let it sink in. "A golden idol" has replaced your son's love for his family in his heart. Until he realizes that and comes to terms with HIS problem, there's little you can do.
Or, you could frame a picture of one of bush's dead US soldiers from Iraq with the caption "Your Child's Picture here, Compliments of GW Bush" and give it to him to hang on his child's wall.
BTW - I've just about totally cut off my born-again repuke family in Ohio since 2001. Haven't visited, don't invite them to visit and never communicate. I can't see that changing anytime soon.

16. What the hell is the matter with him? Even if he disagrees with your |
|
politics now, you should explain to him that it's simple courtesy not to flog you with his politics in YOUR OWN G-DMN HOUSE especially when he knows you disagree.
Weird. My old roommate from med school introduced me to the socialist singer Billy Bragg. He's married to a Bible-thumping fundy type now and they are died in the wool Repub shrub worshippers though. What happened, I wonder sometimes.
