One more Rant about the Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays fiasco.

The weather put me behind two days preparing for Christmas. Here is what I found out.

Of seven places I stopped and of the cashiers:

Four said Merry Christmas
Two said Happy Holidays
One said Thank you for Shopping at...

The Arbys cashier not only said Merry Christmas, they had a big red banner saying the same thing just above their menu board. The Meijer cashier told me Merry Christmas, I went to my car and found that I forgot something, went back in and received another MC from another cashier. I still counted Meijer as one of the four.

The more I saw of Christmas shopping this year the more it looked the same. The people that had decorations saying Merry Christmas continued to do so. Those that had "Holiday Sales" and "Last Minute Gift Ideas" had this going on for a number of years. The lone exception might be Media Play employees who actually were told to say Happy Holidays instead of Christmas.

For the most part this seems to be bullshit scare tactics by the right wing religous zealots.

By the way, Merry Christmas everyone.
