We have the A/C on 70 degrees and I'm still too hot. I'd take 52!

5. It was actually supposed to be around 70 here.
But the temperature has dropped. Kind of nice for Christmas, though.

19. I'm sure many wish they had our problems!
We just returned this week from NYC, it was 20 on the thermometer when we left for the airport. A couple of hours later, when the guys were loading the bags on to the plane, the Captain told us we would be delayed because they were working in conditions that felt like 30 below.

I'll keep my A/C, thank you very much! :)

3. Not at 52, hon, that's way too warm!

And I've rarely been colder than some of the days on the Eckerd College campus. The wind off the bay is killer.

;-)

6. We got a little snow here in Houston!
Most of it landed on parked cars and stayed there. After we saw the snow we all went out and had a snowball fight. That was fun!:-)

18. A White Christmas in Houston -- it's history!
The weather guy said the other night we've never had a white Christmas in Houston. Well, hell, we've got the rooftops and car tops covered with snow -- that counts. That's as good as we'll get so we'll take it -- as long as we can make a snow ball.

It snows here (or flurries) about once a decade, so this is really rare. Imagine a 9-year-old kid who's never seen snow. That would be a kid who grew up here and didn't travel in winter.

10. I've seen it happen....
I was there in the winter of 1976 (I believe), and it actually snowed in Southern Florida. I couldn't believe it. We went there to escape the winter in the northeast. It was freezing the whole time we were there.

12. Actually, I remember that.
It also happened at some point in the 80s but I can't remember the date.

It was awful. No one had any clue how to drive.

16. the winter of 1976 was unbelievable everywhere. There were ice floes in
the Cumberland River in Nashville, the Ohio froze over in Louisville to the point that people were driving cars across it, and we had a ton of snow.

I think we went at least 10 days in Nashville w/temps that did not get above single digits, and it stayed below freezing for even longer than that. It was a miserable year.

Actually there were two real humdingers in a row: 1976-77 & 1977-78 with tons of snow both years, but the first one was by far colder.

I haven't even been able to move the car this week. We've been so buried in ice and snow that all local church services were even cancelled, including on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I don't attend, but I can't remember the last time they did that.

Seriously, this has definitely gotten old. Those of you who think you want snow, think again.

It took me an hour and a half to shovel my driveway 2 days ago. I'm basically living on Advil.
