Okay, So Whaddya Get?
Me:

A new stenograph machine, a new shaving kit, shirts, money, the LOTR Return of the King extended edition (w/ Minas Tirith stone carving figurine), two more shirts, a turtleneck, the Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind dvd, fleece gloves and as they used to say on In Living Color - mo money, mo money, mo money!

How 'bout you, how'd you make out this Christmas?

2. we still gather round the tree on Christmas morning
they friggin woke me up at 8:30 to open presents. My parents get more excited about it than me or my sister.

I think its payback for all those years when I would wake them up at 6 a.m. and beg them to start opening. :)

4. A Panasonic DMRE85HS DVD Recorder
Edited on Sat Dec-25-04 09:43 AM by Khephra
I already have a DMRE80HS and will now never go back to VHS tape again. Having a second one will allow me to use one just for politics and let me use the first one for my family's entertainment needs.

Technically, I haven't received it yet as it's still in the mail.

Oh, and a shitload of blank DVD-Rs and CD-Rs.

11. Since I have a little boy, I don't get quite as much now.
But, that's OK. Seeing his face (and hearing all these electronic toys - ) is present enough.

I got some houseshoes, a toaster oven (badly needed), a "Mind The Gap" watch, a Patricia Cornwell book and some money. Santa brought us both a DVD player.

The boy, however, made a haul: several remote-controlled cars, a remote-controlled UFO (starting him out on "conspiracy theories" early! LOL!), some Army fatigues (he is, afterall, a fan of General Clark - but, he says he doesn't want to join the Army and fight in Bush's wars - he's a conscientious dissenter), some clothes and shoes, a table air-hockey game, a table pool table, a race track, some videos, good old-fashioned Lincoln Logs, a bike and a little desk.

Can you tell he's the only child/grandchild/great-grandchild? ;)

15. I got a Curt Schilling autographed baseball from...
my brother in Colorado.
I had sent my nephews (his boys) some professionally mounted photos from the World Series as gifts earlier, since I couldn't wait until Christmas.
My sister in Alabama sent me the NESN DVD "Faith Rewarded."

Yes---everyone in my family is a Red Sox nut.

I got some other stuff too, but I'm still enjoying the greatest comeback in the history of organized baseball.
It truly is the gift that just keeps giving.

We open gifts after lunch, but my stocking had some pretty cool stuff in it: new Thinsulate-lined gloves, a lead-crystal paperweight in the shape of a gavel, a clip-on book light, a small box of Cadbury chocolates, 2 new pinochle decks and a manicure/pedicure set.

:)

27. Well...
Mom sent me a special rug that's supposed to trap mud/dirt from dog paws for in front of the door, a $200 cashier's check, and an assortment of lavender scented soap, bath oil, and lotion. She also sent some coffee beans, some Liz Claiborne perfume, and some treats and a toy for the dog. (she's never loved the other, older children - kitties, ferrets, gliders...) Interestingly enough - she NEVER sends me anything, and certainly never perfumey things for this tomboy - I'm still wondering WTF is going on .... *L* OH - they also sent me a cashiers check (LOAN) a couple of weeks ago for $4200 to use as a down for a car. Again...WTF moment.

Former roomate still sends me packages after 4 years of living away - he sent a totally bitchin, really BIG special (natural) quartz crystal wand mined from a special place in Brazil.

Former boyfriend /still friend - not sure what to call him actually - $50 gift certificate to a local pet store for supplies for the kiddos, a candycane shaped rawhide for the doggie, some special bath stuff that's supposed to really help back pain, some incense, and a sage/cedar smudge bundle - also, the note said something from amazon that hasn't arrived yet....

Boss #1 - a $25 gift card to Barnes and Noble

Boss (and friend) #2 - Tony Hawk Underground 2, 2 16MB PS2 memory cards, a $50 gift card to Borders, a San Andreas strategy guide, is going to co-sign on a car loan, AND wants to give me $1000 towards my down payment - if he can convince me to accept it. Also, bearing honorable mention is the $2200 he paid for my laptop a few months ago while I was waiting for my loan to come through - and wouldn't accept the money for when the loan came through a week later. I figured that was already an ABOVE AND BEYOND Christmas present all by itself.

Dad - hasn't arrived yet....probably early next week.

Not bad at ALL for a girl that wasn't expecting ANYTHING, and is spending Christmas at home alone with the pets.

31. Best part of evening was watching my daughter and grandkids faces
when I gave them a Disneyland trip for Christmas.

I got, Columbia Snow boots, real nice ones. Wood jewelry case, ruby earrings (my birthstone), candles, mystery books, nice 5x7 of my two daughters in their twenties, and a cool knome garden stone to lay down for my new house.

Best part of the holidays was watching my grandkids and what a good mom my daughter is. They weren't spoiled and whiney but acting sweet and excited. I was shocked when even my husbands ex wife told me yesterday when we picked up 17 yr old step daughter, you did a great job with your girls they turned out really good! That, is my best present!

Kids: CD's, both got boom box multi-CD disc players w/ remotes, PJ's, cell phone, books, CD rack, clothes, DVD movies.
