My Non-Christmas-y Christmas.
I am so glad I decided to "boycott" this year. I ordered some chinese food and I am watching some old movies--non christmas movies. No stress, no drama...life is good:7

3. We're cleaning the house and sorting out items ...
Edited on Sat Dec-25-04 04:18 PM by Philostopher
to donate to our animal shelter where we volunteer, and to Goodwill or one of the other (non-Christian) charities. Doing some minor housecleaning and surfing the 'Net. We'd have gone and paid the usual obeisances to the whole thing, but we have a foot and a half of snow on the ground, most of the roads aren't satisfactorily cleared yet, and it's in the single digits outside. Add to that, when we went out yesterday in the car (we have a RAV4), there seemed to be a wobble in the front end. We figure either we threw a balancing weight or broke a belt getting out of the driveway one of the times we went out to get groceries while it was still snowing -- no way, no how we were driving a two-hundred mile round-trip.

Instead, we'll have roasted chicken and red wine for dinner, and maybe have a 'battle of the ITunes playlists' later, like we did Thanksgiving weekend. No kids, so we didn't even set up a tree this year. Maybe we'll go out before it gets dark and throw out some heels of bread for the birds.

We're both in a great mood, the animals are happy we're here (so they get fed on time) and we don't have to spend the whole day stressed out over one thing and another. Woo-hoo!

4. I'm eating a sandwich and contemplating a return to bed.
I think I'll unplug the phone so the freeper family can't disturb me. Boycotting Christmas...why haven't I thought of it before?

5. I burned trash,
fed the animals, and watched "American Chopper" as there wasn't anything else on TV. Also did a little genealogy-found out I was related to Chester A. Arthur-funny because I'm also related to Grover Cleveland, his successor.

8. I'm writing, Mr. Pcat's got a Baldur's Gate challenge going.
He's going to try to take a single party all the way through Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate II, and Throne of Bhaal in this next week (and remember to pick up all the metal underpants to build the super secret weapon. :eyes: ) Yes, I agreed to this ... activity.

Unfortunately, he got a late start since his computer crashed yesterday and he had to do a backup and reinstall and recompile a bunch of thingies. (Don't ask, I just work here.) I know his crashes are somewhat related to Yellow Dog and the stuff he does for work, but don't ask me. My Mac is very well behaved.

I'm writing. We'll probably have taco salads or nachos for dinner (I have the cheese, the chips, the meat, the beans and the veggies all ready) and ignore the stuff.

Pcat
