4. His best performance was probably in "The Sand Pebbles"...
but either "Bullitt" or "The Great Escape" are better movies.

15. It was called "The Hunter"
about Papa Thorson. There was a TV series called "Hunter" with Fred Dryer, about a cop.

12. If you remember that, then you must remember "Paladin-
Have Gun, Will Travel" w/ Richard Boone--that was my favorite.

A fairly similar type show, there used to be a lot of those Western,
loner, drifter, do-gooder type shows.

14. I don't remember that one, but I was remembering a few others...
"The Rifleman" w/ Chuck Connors
"Rawhide" w/ Clint Eastwood as Rowdy Yates (the best cowboy name of all time)
"Wagon Train" (which I think was an anthology format, but I'm not sure)

Oh boy, this is a tough one. I love Steve McQueen. Best Performance? Sand Pebbles. Pappillon I think for best film. Jeez, I don't know.

What a groovy guy he was. Here is some Steve McQueen trivia for you all; when he was really sick, he came down here for treatment at this place that now sells condos. It's right before La Mision, and in those days was considered really to be out in the boondocks. They call the place the "Pyramid". I think about him when I drive past it.What you can't see in these pictures, are the little bungalows to the right of the pyramid where the sick people used to stay. Those buildings are still standing. Sometimes I wonder what he was thinking as he looked out over the ocean.

19. "...comin' right at me, Squadron Leader."
"You're crazy. You oughta be locked up. You, too. Two hundred and fifty guys just walkin' down the road, just like that? "

Gotta love his bravado in the character...and his stunt work in the film.

21. Went with Papillon for the range he had to cover.
Starts off as suave street hood, ends up as a feisty old man who just refuses to give in to anyone. It also got some sentimental points for who I saw it with and why.

The Cincinnati Kid and Lemans deserve mention, but I wouldn't have changed my vote.

They are all good. The man had some amazing career.
