I got Asian food and saw "The Life Aquatic." The food - excellent. Went with a fellow heretic to Siam Café in Cleveland's lovely midtown corridor and enjoyed seafood medley with pan-seared noodles. My lovely companion had the chicken in black bean and garlic sauce. Both were superb. "The Life Aquatic" has been getting lukewarm reviews, but fuck that noise, I liked it a lot.
Any other good alternative celebrations to report? I'm all ears.

1. I had a lovely Atheistmas, myself. |

Nevermind the family bein' all santa and jolly and crap. I got a good breffus, plenty o' strong coffee, some underserved gifts, and the chance to flee before being roped into any more of it than I could comfortably and/or gracefully handle. :D

That was my dream day.
We had sashimi last night and, as required by law, we were going to go out for Chinese today and see that movie.
Instead, I slept until 2 p.m., folded laundry and ate Krispy Kreme doughnuts. It was wonderful to sit around and legitimately have nowhere to go and nothing to do. Joy.
My husband on the other hand was up early, and fell asleep on the couch at about 3 p.m.
We are currently watching "The Sound of Music." I love Julie Andrews.
Peace.

4. I had the traditional Jewmas too |

Dim sum and movie. I love being a Jew on the day of the birth of Their Lord -- and for the nine or ten weeks of ramping up before that.

We celebrate a very secular Christmas and it was great. Mostly because it's just the three of us and whatever friends want to join us--no other family.
We just hang out, relax, open presents, eat, basically do whatever we want.
Fantastic.
