Why does it take cats an HOUR to sit down?
I mean, how many bloody times can you walk around in circles on my lap, kitty??? It ain't changing shape or moving! And then they just sit down in any 'ol spot after all of that. I mean really.

1. I know.
They are moody, picky-ass little shits. Ok, mine is anyway.

She sat in the same spot on our bed for like NINE straight hours today, then when Her Highness condescended to be with us, she walked around all pissed off because my lap wouldn't conform to her standards.

7. hey BB
my cat was asleep on my bed as I was getting ready for work. Suspecting he never freaking moves sometimes when I am gone, I planted a sock on him. Sure enough, when I returned from work TEN HOURS LATER that damn sock was still on him. GET UP I SAID and I slid him off the bed. He jumped back up, did that classic cat arch-back stretch thing, then promptly laid down and went right back to sleep. :O

9. I remember my vet advising me my cat would need to "take it easy"
IF HE TOOK IT ANY EASIER I'D HAVE TO GET HIM STUFFED.

4. they must have evrything perfect to sit down
then they get up and move on,come back do circles for an hour, sit down-get up. If cats had shrinks they would come up with alot of names for it and drugs for them to take.Your cat could have acute circle disorder,A.C.D. can be cured with cat nip and a ball of yarn under a doctor's supervision.

6. yet it's strange
how sometimes you can be watching TV and all the sudden realize your cat is sitting on you - and you don't remember him planting himself there . . . .

10. On the other hand...
...I can always tell when one of our cats is making herself comfortable on my husband's lap when I hear him say, "Will you stop dancing on my nuts!"

13. bwaaa-haa-haaa
year ago, a co-worker had adopted a kitten. The kitten decided he liked to sleep with them.

One night husband thought wife was getting amorous in the middle of the night... Wife woke up to hear husband saying "ohhh, that's a nice surprise"

Wife said - "what nice surprise? what are you talking about?"

silence. covers flew off and lights went on -- kitten was gently purring and licking Mr. Petey...

11. It's instinct.
You never know when there might be a Bush, Cheney, or a Rumsfeld in the grass (a snake would be less dangerous), but cats have to check the ground very carefully before they plant themselves. No telling how long they might be there.

21. cats don't like snakes and will try to kill them; in the wild they
will sleep in areas where snakes probably also go for shelter. So they have to check their beds carefully

12. our Grande Dame (Kudra)
(19 yrs old) prefers to stand on your chest focusing her entire 10lb weight on one tiny spot -- ouchy

eventually she'll settle her whole body on my chest and go to sleep.

Her other favorite spot is to lay on the scanner, with her head under the desk lamp. We had name this the feline tanning booth...

Gato (aka cat-zilla) just likes to nestle down between two warm bodies, and grab a hand for a belly rub -- he's quite insistent....

the other two like to spoon behind the knees

23. because...
if you weren't going to move for 12 hours straight you should at least spend one hour finding a comfy spot.

Or maybe you're not fluffy enough.

24. What kind of cats are you talking about?!
I have had three cats, in my life, and I can picture them running, chasing a kitty toy, batting at each other, jumping up to look out the window, stalking my dog, stepping all over me while I was trying to sleep, but sitting?! Not mine! Where do you find these cats, anyway?!
