crumble them up or dunk them?
as long as we're here--dumber than a box of rocks, or dumber than a sack of hammers?

1. Crumbled, in chili too. Dumber than rocks, because hammers are smart. |

hammers have smarts. They fall down and hit my toe every time I drop one! (I'm clumsier than a box of hammers, that's for sure!)

19. Unless it's Common Crackers... |

...what Nabisco bastardizes and calls "Oysterettes"
Westminster Crackers are the best I've found so far. A handful floating whole in Chowder, or Tomato Soup? Perfection.

I crumble a whole bunch and soak them into the soup, then I half-submerge whole crackers along the edge of the bowl. While I wait for the soup to cool off a little (I'm prone to burning my tongue; apparently everyone else I know has super tongues that don't burn) I eat soup-soaked whole crackers. Yummy.

9. Usually use oyster crackers |
|
So whole I guess. It would seem pointless to crush them. And I pick box of rocks.

immediately stuck a bunch of crackers in it, I would drown you! They are an abomination!!!
Now if you are opening up a can of Campbell's Tomato Soup, and you toss in some oyster crackers, no harm done! :)
Oh, and it's a bag of hammers.

It's one of those quirks in my boyfriend I tolerate.
Soup, Gumbo, Stew, Chili.....Immediately the bf reaches for the box of crackers.

20. Now hold on a second... |
|
I don't wanna start a flame war here or anything--BUT when I make my own pot of homemade soup--be it split pea, lentil, any kind of bean, ckicken noodle, chicken vegetable, kick-ass-kitchen-sink-black-bean-pork-chop-chili I'm havin' crackers with it in some fashion! As comedian Mitch Hedberg once said "I like crackers."
Now as far as hammer-totin'-contraptions go, I stand corrected. Even though I think there's just something funny about the phrase "sack of hammers." Oh well ;)

I try to float them, but then get impatient, and stab them with my spoon. Always, and I can't emphasize this enough, in tomato soup.

Submerged as much as possible.
And put a hit of red wine vinegar in that tomato soup. It's very nice.
Actually, it's "dumber than a box of hair."
