I need a second job....any ideas? |
|
I'm so depressed. I did my budget and looks like I am going to need a second job just to make ends meet! Other than prostitution, what else is a good way to make some extra moolah?

...I assume you have a day job. Telemarketing? Some sort of 'work at home over the internet' job?
Good luck - I'm currently working my day job from home as a remote systems engineer supporting sales over south AL and FL.
Working from home has it's ups and downs, but I'd much rather do this than work in an office.

I thought it sucked when I did it. But you can usually find some place that needs them it usually pays at least 8 to 10 dollars an hour. Better yet but harder to find is a call center for some business. You don't have to sell people anything or get them to donate money and you just solve their problems.

You can find things in thrift stores like funky retro clothes or just unique things- at yard sales-dollar stores, wherever...great way to get rid of your extra crap, too! Use digital camera as you really have to have photos to get things to sell for decent prices. You'll find it's definitely a part time job, but they've made it easy and you can get UPS, FedEx and USPS to pick the items up for you now! And print mailing labels right on computer! It can be fun, too!

13. Do you have any hobbies? |
|
Maybe try for a job connected with one of your interests. If you like animals, look for a job in a Vet's office or animal shelter. Or if you like plants and growing things try for a job working in a greenhouse or floral shop. Things like that.

I did medical transcription for years, very profitable because I type fast.
The idea about waitering in a restaurant is a good one as well, just make sure that they sell alcohol so that you get good tips.
Good luck!

20. Don't Laugh...But Deliver Pizzas... |
|
you can clear typically between 8 to 12 dollars an hour...(perhaps more if you are in a suburban area or large college town... the schedules are typically very flexible ...you don't want to do it probably any more than 15 hours a week...more than that you are looking at maybe excessive wear and tear on your vehicle. It's very easy work. Listen to your radio while your delivering. Stop in a C Store for a cold drink if you need one. Other than maybe helping to clean up a little bit there is not a whole lot of work to it. You always have pocket money, gas money, lunch money. Then you can use your pay checks from you regular jobs to pay bills. Then anything left over every month you can save.

21. It depends what you're doing now |
|
If you're on your feet all day, then telemarketing or transcription or some other sort of "desk job" might be good; if you're at a desk all day, then maybe retail would work.
Trust me, 16 hours in front of a computer is unhealthy to eyes, hands, back, you name it. A day job involving writing (on the computer) and a seond job writing reports at night can make you almost blind.
But a second job in retail can be almost a relief - it feels good to walk around after sitting all day.

I tried working seven days a week one year, and, well, I couldn't hack it.
