Not the shit 2004 version but the original 1967 version that's actually decent. (I have an old VHS tape, but still...)

On two discs, to mimic the olden day pleasures of Laserdisc.

And now I'm going to rip the discs, clean up the video and audio, and compress the bugger on one DVD, now that I've perfected the process for my other archival projects.

No more VHS tapes that I can build year-round igloos with, hurrah! :D :D

3. Sweet! So there are other fans of real comedy!
:D

I can't wait to post before and after pics, though the source material is far more the problem than the original LD->DVD transfer. (faded, hissy audio, all of that... pity there aren't jobs doing film restoration professionally. )

7. Pete and Dud are the best!
I do hope that those who saw the remake will check out the original version, although it's not on DVD.

They show a pretty good letterboxed version of Fox Movie Channel from time to time.

8. I second that! It can be found on VHS at many rental stores too.
Assuming they still have the tape.

I wish they'd they'd release the original proper... and the original is infinitely better.

9. Totally. He's a fucking genius!

And Dudley Moore was never better than when they were working together.

Edited to add:

Did you ever hear any of the Derek and Clive albums they did together? Some of the most twisted, filthy, brilliant stuff ever recorded!

16. And just to kick this wonderful thread when it's somewhat down, here's the
text of my favorite sketch from Pete and Dud's show, Good Evening, which I saw on Broadway FIVE times! (Even in the front row the first time — it was so cool!)
